Old Fashioned Angel Biscuits  Made Clean

My hubby told me a few days ago that he was craving yeast bread. I wanted to help with the craving but keep it clean. So I dug out the recipe box and looked

up an old family recipe for Angel biscuits. Of course, I had to clean them up but this is my clean version of the Angel biscuits that I enjoyed as a kid.

2 pkgs dry yeast

1 c. Lukewarm water

2 tbsp unrefined coconut sugar

4 c. White whole wheat flour

1 c. Whole wheat flour

5 1/4 tsp baking powder

1 1/4 tsp sea salt

2 c. Unsweetened soy milk ( or milk of your choice)

In a large bowl, dissolve the yeast in the water. Mix in the sugar. Set aside for a few minutes. Meanwhile, mix flours, baking powder and sea salt together, well. Add the flour mix to the yeast, add milk. Mix with wooden spoon til well combined.

Pinch of amount needed and cook as any biscuit at 375 degrees.

This dough will keep in fridge for a week.
