Orange-Cinnamon Baked French Toast

Growing up ,one of my all time favorites was French toast. actually it still is! That’s one thing that I have missed by eating clean but no more! This is a nice twist on an old favorite, I hope that you will enjoy it.

Ingredients

3 tbsp melted unsalted butter

2 tbsp raw honey

1/2 tsp cinnamon

1 egg

2 egg whites

1/2 cup orange juice ( fresh squeezed is best)

about 6 slices of clean bread. ( I have large slices, so I cut them down the middle)

Honey or pure maple syrup to pour over ( just a touch, it’s really good plain!)

pre heat oven to 400 degrees

In a small bowl, combine the butter,honey and cinnamon. mix well, pour into a greased baking pan or large greased casserole

dish .Spread to coat bottom.

Mix all other ingredients except bread in a shallow bowl. Dip bread in this mixture and place in pan. then quickly turn slice over.

Bake for about 15-20 minutes or til golden brown. Serve and eat.

* can sub Almond milk and 1 tsp vanilla for orange juice.

* left overs can be frozen for later breakfasts.
