Growing up ,one of my all time favorites was French toast. actually it still is! That’s one thing that I have missed by eating clean but no more! This is a nice twist on an old favorite, I hope that you will enjoy it.
3 tbsp melted unsalted butter
2 tbsp raw honey
1/2 tsp cinnamon
2 egg whites
1/2 cup orange juice ( fresh squeezed is best)
about 6 slices of clean bread. ( I have large slices, so I cut them down the middle)
Honey or pure maple syrup to pour over ( just a touch, it’s really good plain!)
pre heat oven to 400 degrees
In a small bowl, combine the butter, honey and cinnamon. mix well, pour into a greased baking pan or large greased casserole
dish .Spread to coat bottom.
Mix all other ingredients except bread in a shallow bowl. Dip bread in this mixture and place in pan. then quickly turn slice over.
Bake for about 15-20 minutes or til golden brown. Serve and eat.
* can sub Almond milk and 1 tsp vanilla for orange juice.
* left overs can be frozen for later breakfasts.
