Pizza , in my opinion, is on top of the list of ultimate comfort foods. Eating clean doesn’t mean that our comfort foods are gone from our diet! It just means we eat a healthier clean version of it!


Do ahead;

Pizza Dough

makes 2 1 lb dough balls,


1 tbsp raw honey

1 cup less 1 1/2 tbsp lukewarm water (divided 1/3 c and 2/3 c)

2 1/2 tsp dry active yeast

2 1/2 c whole wheat flour (reserve 1/2 c for kneading)

4 tsp vital gluten

1 tsp sea salt

3 tbsp olive oil

In a large bowl, mix together 1/3 water and honey. Sprinkle yeast on top, let sit 10 min or til foamy.

Meanwhile , mix 2 cups wheat flour. wheat gulten and sea salt in a separate bowl.

Once yeast is foamy, add 2 tbsp oil and 2/3 c water to yeast. fold in flour mixture with spatula until just combined. It will form a very moist ball.Coat bottom of a large bowl with 1 tbsp oil,place dough in bowl and turn over gently to coat dough with oil. Cover tightly with plastic wrap. Set aside to rise for about an hour.

dough will be sticky and soft.

Lightly dust your work space with flour (about 1/4 c).Gently roll dough in flour to coat. Knead dough with remaining flour as needed for about 1 minute.. Form into ball and place back in bowl . Cover with plastic wrap and let sit about 30 min.

Spray baking pan lightly with olive oil.

It can be rolled out for a crust now or refrigerated for about 24 hours..


For pizza sauce, I used this today, but on occasion do make my own.




wishing I had some spinach today but alas..

I generally use whatever veggies that I have on hand, some uncured pepperoni, and low fat cheese.. feta is great as well! Create your own masterpiece! Great alone or with a side salad.


Bake til crust is golden brown about 20-30 min depending on how thick your crust is..
